East Midlands strike suspended

26 June 2009

ASLEF has suspended the proposed industrial action at East Midlands Trains in light of an improved pay offer and will now consult its 396 members in the company to see if the improvement is acceptable to them.

The revised offer will be put to the members without a recommendation from the union’s executive and the result of the consultation is expected within the coming three weeks.

ASLEF members working for East Midlands trains had voted overwhelmingly to take industrial action over the current pay dispute and three days of stoppages had been announced.
