Euston protests for public rail

12 October 2012

Transport workers all over the globe are organising a variety of activities this week to highlight the need for publically accountable and not-for-profit rail. The International Transport Federation of trade unions, to which ASLEF is affiliated, is behind the world-wide series of events.

General Secretary Mick Whelan stood shoulder to shoulder with TSSA general secretary Manuel Cortes and Mick Cash of the RMT at protests organised this morning at Euston Station.

‘ASLEF will take every opportunity we can to argue for a railway that provides decent services for passengers and secure well-paid jobs for rail workers,’ Mick says and he thanked those members who attended this morning’s event.
