ASLEF Members accept new deal on Wales and Borders

ASLEF members on Wales and Borders have voted by a majority of 3 to 1 to accept a new deal on pay and conditions on Wales and Borders.

 

Drivers employed by the new Wales and Borders franchise had voted for industrial action in their dispute on the issue of pay harmonisation between employees transferred from several different previously existing train operating companies.

 

ASLEF General Secretary Mick Rix said

 

"Despite the best efforts of the Strategic Rail Authority in interfering in negotiations between ASLEF and Wales and Borders Management our members have been offered and have accepted a deal which meets their aspirations on pay and conditions"
