East Coast petition

16 February 2018

We Own It - the pressure group which campaigns to bring the public utilities sold off by the Tories back into public ownership -  is ramping up activity on the East Coast because Chris Grayling, the Secretary of State for Transport, is poised to make a decision about the future of the line.

'So we're planning to hand in a petition on Tuesday so there's a chance to influence him,' says Cat Hobbs, director of We Own It. 'It would be amazing if you were able to ask ASLEF members to sign ahead of Tuesday and boost the numbers - here's the link https://weownit.org.uk/act-now/east-coast-public-ownership-petition

'And we'd love you to come along for the petition hand-in. We'll meet outside the DfT at 8.15am on Tuesday 20 February, hand in the petition at 8.30, and be gone by 8.45. Would be great to see you there!'
