Structure

ASLEF's 18,500+ members belong to one of our 180 branches that are spread throughout the UK. Branch membership totals can range around anything from 10 to 370. The branches are then split into 8 districts which are headed up by a District Organiser. Each district also has it's own Executive Committee member, District Council Secretary and Consultative Committee Representatives.

 The overall control and direction of the union is delegated by the Annual Assembly of Delegates (ASLEF's annual conference) to its Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is elected by members within each district and it in turn elects its President from among its members.
