Keith Norman - General Secretary

Keith Norman is the current General Secretary of ASLEF, having previously held the position of Acting General Secretary since May 2004.

Keith has been a member of ASLEF for 42 years and a fulltime official with ASLEF for 14 years, having held the post of District Secretary for the Wales and South West region.  Before becoming a full time official Keith represented ASLEF members at all levels of the union from local representative to Executive Committee member for his District.

He has extensive experience of negotiating in the rail industry and has led negotiations with a number of train operating companies on pay and conditions, health and safety issues and re-structuring.  He has represented members at disciplinary hearings, appeals, employment tribunals, child support appeals, DSS and Medical Appeal Hearings.

Keith is a member of the Labour Party.
