Birmingham New Street Courses
Free ITQ course - increase your IT knowledge and gain a qualification. The course allows you to study areas of IT that you want to learn more about in a flexible and informal way, whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You can study for a Certificate for IT users up to a level 3 or study for the Diploma for IT users up to a Level 3 and includes a qualification in English and Math.
The next enrolment days and tutor support days for the ITQ course at Birmingham New Street will take place on the 18th of October and November 2nd 10am to 4pm in the Learning Centre.
Basic computer workshop – If you want to learn how to switch on a computer, use a mouse or keyboard or simply how to use the internet this 1 day workshop is for you. This is open to anyone, and is running on the 4th of November in the New Street Learning Centre 10am to 4pm. Just drop in anytime during the day.

Bletchley, Milton Keynes courses

French for Beginners Course
COMMENCING WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 2nd 2011

This is a 10 week/20 hour course, 11.00am – 13.00pm - Distant support is provided for missed lessons
£60 per person payable to Newport Free Grammar School upon application.
As the course is being subsidised, we are not able to offer refunds

This course is open to all staff. As with most educational courses it is dependent on enough people signing up. We are looking at a minimum of 10 people signing up and are quite hopeful we can surpass that figure. Beginning in January 2012 two Electrician's 17th edition regulation courses are being run for twelve weeks on a Tuesday and Thursday to help attendance with shift patterns.

Free training opportunities
You now have the opportunity to improve your Maths and English skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification up to Level 2 (Equivalent level of GCSE grade A* - C).

East Midlands Trains
Union Learning are organising a Jack the Ripper walk in London for the 7th of December.
The walk will start around 19:00hrs, and last for two and half hours. The walk will finish in the Hoop and Grape public house.
To make a booking we need about 20 to 30 people. The cost will be £8 per head, and we will need this as your deposit.
Its open to all EMT employees, and partners are more than welcome.
This is a mid-week trip, so to really enjoy the evening we recommend stopping overnight in London. (This you would have to organise yourself, we recommend the Ibis at Aldgate)
