SMART pensions

ASLEF members have again recieved paperwork through the post relating to SMART pensions

The Position of the Company Council over SMART pensions has not changed and we urge all Drivers to remain in the main EWS/i RPS and not to transfer over to the SMART pensions. aside from the fact that adoption of this type of pension changes the contractual terms and conditions of employment for members,we also do not agree in principle with SMART pensions as this results in a large cost saving to the company in terms of NI contributions which are reduced as a result of this type of pension.
