New National Traincrew Compendium

20 May 2012

Work on the compendium began at Depots in late December and the last Depots have now finished off their respective compendiums.

As of the 20/5/2012 DBSR UK Central Resources including Planning will be using a totally updated Compendium as agreed by Local Level Reps and Traincrew Council, the Council wish to place on record their appreciation for the task being carried out by all concerned.

As you are all aware the issue of Diagram Errors has been an ongoing issue for you as Local Reps and at Council level as far back as we care to remember. It is hoped that this latest initiative will greatly reduce these errors and put in-place a system where any errors can be rectified quickly so they should not happen again. It is also important that this document is updated speedily when changes are agreed.

At the moment Drivers/Ops have been sending in Individual Diagram Investigation Forms to Central Resources and copying in their Council Rep. It is Councils intention that these forms should now be progressed through the Local Representatives and will be proposing these changes to the head of HR shortly, until then please continue with the agreed process until the change is agreed.

We believe there has been some success with these forms but we require these issues to be resolved quickly and eventually eradicated.

The next big issue for Council to concentrate on will be to eradicate Rostering Errors again these mistakes should not be happening at all. The section on rostering in the NDFTC is very clear on the parameters that Driver/Ops can be Rostered. One of the main issues that seem to be happening lately are mistakes in MPT, I understand that there is a big push to resolve this issue.  Again the forms that are been used for registering Rostering mistakes need to be filled in, we know it’s frustrating that this issue has been with us forever but there is an urgent need to finally stop these mistakes.
