NATIONAL COMPANY COUNCIL REPORT,DECEMBER 2008

 

As many people are now aware EWS has announced job losses and restructuring in an attempt to deal with the effects of the current Economic situation that the company finds itself in.

With regards to Traincrew grades the Company Council has been given proposed numbers in relation to staff reductions at a number of depots nationwide. It must be stressed though that these figures are only PROPOSED numbers and that the Company Council will be seeking to significantly reduce these numbers. On Wednesday 10th the Company Council will be meeting the ASLEF EC at Arkwright Road to discuss the situation,and over the coming few weeks Company Council Reps all over the Country will be seeking ways to resolve the present situation.

The affected depots with the posts at risk are as follows.Again, the Company Council stress that the numbers are only proposals by EWS.
