Following the recent dispute the DCC attended meetings at ASLEF HQ yesterday (15.09.2009) to discuss a revised proposal put forward by the company.
The meetings followed prior discussions with the Acting GS the District Organiser and EC President last week.
The settlement put forward was placed before a meeting of the Executive Committee today (16.09.2009) who have decided the following in EC Res: 914/446
Basis of the resolution.
The GS is instructed to advise the company that the revised no strings offer of 3.5 % staged over 2 years is acceptable.
The planned strike action w/c 21.09.2009 is cancelled.
ASLEF reserves the right under statutory legislation to initiate further strike action under EC Res 650/446 should the company renege on its commitments as agreed in relation to the I/R part of the dispute.
RDW has been sanctioned for a 12 month period from w/c 21.09.09 until 25.09.2010.
This is subject to continued monitoring by local reps and quarterly reports from the DCC and Full Time Officer. This includes the commitment to look at depot by depot establishments as previously agreed... Dates to commence this process have already been set.
The further list of actions previously agreed under the I/R agenda and former company based restructuring talks will commence in due course.
Any further former company based productivity talks to look at the option of a further 0.5 % increase in basic salaries backdated to 1st September 2009 will include relevant company council and local reps from the section concerned along with the FTO.
Separate future former company restructuring negotiations will also be formed on this basis to include representatives’ from the area’s concerned.
Full details of the offer will be advised and posted as soon as possible.
Amended rates of pay will be posted as soon as they are checked and agreed.
The Drivers Company Council fully accepts that this has been a difficult dispute which we now believe we have found a way forward with.
