ASLEF suspends 2 March LUL strike
27/02/2006ASLEF negotiators at London Underground (LUL) will recommend to the Executive Committee that it suspends the union’s proposed industrial action on LUL on 2 March.

23/02/2006The Employment Appeal Tribunal today granted ASLEF the right to appeal against the decisions made by the original employment tribunal that favoured Shaun Brady. The appeal will be presented on 20 and 21 March.

EC member: ‘No rift in London ASLEF’
17/02/2006Various reports in London media have referred to a rift between ASLEF and its London district organiser Steve Grant. They have been dismissed as ‘uninformed nonsense’ by London executive committee member Terry Wilkinson.
Standards fall again
14/02/2006A report in the London Evening Standard today ‘reveals’ that the union has ‘suspended’ Bro Steve Grant, ASLEF’s district organiser in London. In fact Steve requested a period of extended leave for personal reasons and this was agreed. ‘The story is simply not true,’ says General Secretary Keith Norman. ‘But this will come as no surprise to readers of the Evening Standard.’

Wessex ballot as dispute grows over sacking
09/02/2006ASLEF members working for Wessex Trains are to be balloted for industrial action following the dismissal of one of the union’s highly experienced representatives.
ASLEF: ‘Two weeks to sort out Underground dispute’
09/02/2006ASLEF has given London Underground two weeks to sort out a "serious breakdown in industrial relations and trust" – or its members will begin a series of 24-hour non-continuous strikes. A membership ballot announced today revealed that 81.3% of members in LUL voted to back an EC recommendation to vote ‘yes’ for action.
London Ballot result to be announced on Thursday 9 February
07/02/2006ASLEF said today that it would announce the result of its ballot for industrial action in London Underground at a press conference and briefing at 1330 next Thursday (9 February) at its headquarters at 9 Arkwright Road. The union has recommended its members to vote yes in the ballot, thus giving authority for a series of 24-hour non-continuous strikes.
