FCC strike called off

08 December 2009

ASLEF’s Executive Committee today (8th December) called off a strike of its 550 plus members working on First Capital Connect. The decision was made as a result of an improved pay offer from the company.

Accordingly the Executive Committee, Lead Officer and Company Council are recommending that members accept the revised FCC 2009/10 Pay Offer which equates to 5.0% over two years with papers to be returned by 13th January 2010.

In addition the improved offer will see members exercise their right to work on rest days, to be reviewed in March.

General Secretary Keith Norman said, ‘I’m pleased the company has come forward with an improved offer and hope they will address the causes of the current disagreement by recruiting more train drivers.’
