East Midlands Trains Drivers to Take Industrial Action to Protect Pensions.

20 April 2012

ASLEF members on East Midlands Trains have overwhelmingly voted in support of industrial action to protect their pensions.

East Midlands Trains is proposing to reduce its contributions into the scheme despite the turbulent economic climate which is likely to have reduced the fund’s assets since the last valuation. The Company’s short term cost cutting measures will have long term implications for all EMT staff and their pensions.

76.4% were in favour of action which will take place on 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th and 17th May.
