Workers' Memorial Day

16 April 2012

Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. In most cases they die simply because an employer decided that protecting their safety just wasn't that important a priority. Workers' Memorial Day is held on 28 April every year, to commemorate those workers.

“Remember the dead – and fight for the living!”

ASLEF will be represented at commemoration events and rallies across the country, including London, Liverpool and Manchester.

For more information on the Workers’ Memorial Day and Day of Action to Defend Health and Safety, please visit the TUC website.

If you would be interested in attending one of these events, please see the TUC’s Day of Action list of the activities planned across the country.

Further information about Workers' Memorial Day, and a listing of the global activities, can be found on the Hazards website.
