With sadness

30 July 2013

It is with sadness that we have learned of the death of ASLEF member Jack Housley. Jack joined ASLEF in 1954 and was a popular and well-respected union activist in District 4. On his retirement Jack became active in the ASLEF Retired Members' Section where his unique contribution will be greatly missed by his colleagues.

The funeral will take place at the Rose Hill Crematorium, Canley Lane, Doncaster DN4 6NE on Tuesday 13 August at 13h00. The celebration of Jack's life will be after the funeral at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in Kirk Smeaton, which is owned by Jack's daughter. A coach has been arranged by ASLEF to take members to the crematorium and then the pub. It will be leaving Doncaster railway station at 12h30 promptly. Places on the coach are limited so if you intend to take up a place please inform the National Organiser, Simon Weller.
