Maria sparkles

Maria Eagle was in sparkling form at the Campaign for Better Transport fringe meeting at the Grand Hotel on Sunday night.

At the end, as she got up to go to speak at the Progress Rally at the Odeon cinema next door, Stephen Joseph, chief executive of the Campaign, and chair of the meeting, urged delegates at a packed King’s Terrace to hear Maria speak, again, at the Labour Transport Group’s meeting on Monday evening at the Cricketers in Black Lion Street, Brighton. ‘What are the top three priorities for transport in the first year of a Labour government?’ is the topic. Which drew this twinkling response from Maria: ‘Three? I’ve just given you two. I’m going to have to come up with another in the next 24 hours…’
