Living standards down under coalition

28 April 2015

Mick Whelan has spoken out after new analysis published today revealed that the Conservative-led coalition has presided over the worst five year period (from 2010 to 2014) for living standards for half a century.

Mick said: ‘What a surprise!Wages frozen, zero hours contracts, a population living on food banks, or credit, and now we have evidence that living standards have fallen.

‘Governments are meant to look after communities and people but this coalition does not care unless you are a banker or a tax evader.

‘It’s time for people to be treated as if they are in the sixth richest nation in the world, not with contempt. Let’s give our children and grandchildren a real future and some hope.’
