GWR level crossing incident

Commenting on the GWR level crossing incident today, Keith Norman ASLEF acting General Secretary said:


 "Train drivers throughout Britain will join me in expressing our deepest sympathy for the families of the dead and injured and wish the speediest recovery for those hurt in this terrible incident.


The family of the driver know that ASLEF will give every help we can in their time of distress."


The incident happened at around 1815 GMT Saturday 6th November 2004 when the 1735 First Great Western service from Paddington to Plymouth hit a car on an unmanned level crossing near Ufton Nervet in Berkshire.
