ASLEF's AAD 2019

10 May 2019

ASLEF’s annual assembly of delegates – our annual conference – is being held at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds next week, from Monday 13 to Thursday 16 May.

GS Mick Whelan, AGS Simon Weller, and head office staff arrive tomorrow [Saturday] to make sure everything runs smoothly. Delegates from branches across England, Scotland, and Wales will travel by train to Leeds on Sunday.

AAD is ASLEF’s policy-making parliament, and the foundation stone of our democratic structure.

This is the week when we turn our trade union over to members to evaluate what we have done, where we are, and what we want to do in the future; to assess and discuss and evolve policy based on items sent in from branches,’ said Mick Whelan.

EC president Dave Calfe said: ‘AAD is ASLEF’s most important body. It makes the policy that we carry out.’
