Industrial action vote in ONE

20 October 2006

ASLEF members in ONE have voted overwhelmingly for industrial action in a ballot announced this week. The returns show that 97% of members are prepared to take action short of a strike, and 94% have voted for strike action.

While this ballot was taking place, a revised offer was made by the company, and members are considering the new development by means of a referendum. This will be concluded on 2 November.

In the event that the revised offer is rejected, the executive committee will consider the nature of sanctions against the company.
