ASLEF raises Trade Union Freedom Bill

Yesterday saw the Scottish TUC congress delegates back the campaign for a Trade Union Freedom Bill in their masses.


Delegates debated the Bill, which is seeking to make incremental changes to the law on industrial action to reduce the regulatory burdens which frustrate unions" ability to organise industrial action and provide improved protection to those exercising their basic rights to take industrial action.


ASLEF delegate Chris Barrie spoke about Tony Blair’s bragging that Britain still has the most restrictive trade union laws in the Western World. Chris said: ‘Let that be his epitaph! The trade union movement has to demand more – the same rights as workers in other countries in Europe.’
