Pensions go to Parliament

03 April 2006

The rail unions - ASLEF, RMT, TSSA and CSEU / Amicus have called a Lobby of Parliament in defence of railway workers pensions on Tuesday 9 May from 1400 – 1600 in Committee Room 14. The unions are calling on rail workers to assemble outside Parliament from 1300.

Speakers at the lobby have yet to be arranged, but will include the general secretaries of each union.

The unions are campaigning jointly for a pensions deal to maintain benefits, hold contributions at a reasonable level, keep schemes open to new members and streamline the proliferation of sections within the Railways Pension Scheme created by the fragmentation of privatisation.
