Women’s TUC elect ASLEF’s Pauline

10 March 2006

The union is delighted to hear that the Secretary of ASLEF’s Women"s Committee - Sister Pauline Cawood from the Leeds branch – has been elected to the TUC Women’s Committee.

National Organiser Andy Reed said the result of the election at the TUC Women’s Conference taking place in Eastbourne is ‘a tribute to Pauline and a boost for the union’s profile.’

“Women are a very distinct minority in our grades and it is a tribute to their energy and commitment that they are a significant voice in ASLEF – and now in the TUC,” says Andy. “I’m sure we all offer Pauline our sincere congratulations.”
